PENSACOLA, Florida — Margaret C. “Polly” (Scheer) Koontz, 78, a native of the Miflin community and a resident of Pensacola since 1967, passed away Saturday, March 21.

She was a member of Swift Presbyterian Church.

“She was an amazing cook and sometimes was a marvelous short-order cook, too,” the family said.

Mrs. Koontz was a loving “Nanny” to her 15 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Charles “Chuck” Koontz.

The family includes a daughter, Amy (Terry) Posey; sons, Douglas (Kelly) Koontz, Todd (Stefanie) Koontz, Gregg (Tammy) Koontz; brothers, Ron Scheer, Robert Scheer, Alan Scheer, Mike Scheer; grandchildren, Chelsea, Christopher, Benjamin, Savannah, Caitlin, Houston, Christiane, Laura, Annabelle, Catherine, Sarah, Andrew, Kayleigh, Bethany, Gabe; and great-grandchildren.

A private family graveside service will be held in the Swift Church Cemetery. A celebration of life will be held at a later date.

Mack Funeral Home, Robertsdale, is in charge of arrangements. You can share a memory about Polly.
