Why are they called that?
And what do they do?
“Fourth Day” or “reunion” groups are for those who have attended a Cursillo weekend. These small groups are designed to be accountability groups of 3–12 participants.
The Cursillo weekend is a three-day retreat; the fourth day is the rest of your life.
These groups gather to be intentional — to pray, to study and to continue their pursuit of a life lived wholly in the grace of God. These small follow-up groups help pilgrims translate the message conveyed during a Cursillo weekend into a daily walk with Christ through the discipline of piety, study and action.
Fourth Day groups are encouraged to meet faithfully at least twice a month, open with the unison prayer from the card they received on their pilgrim weekend, and share their walk, concerns and joys since they last met. Some have enjoyed Bible studies or book studies.
“Swift Fourth Day Fellowship Group” would like to begin meeting again on the first Thursday of the month, 6:30 to 8 p.m., for fellowship, simple meal, prayer and Bible study. Contacts are Philip and Jody Beth Melton. Email: jodybeth7@yahoo.com
