24th Sunday in Ordinary Time
Elder of the month: Al Sprouse
Five practices of fruitful congregations
— 10 a.m. —
►Worship service in the sanctuary
■ This Sunday, Sept. 13, our service will be held in the sanctuary at 10 a.m. All special precautions will be observed, such as masks, social distancing, cleanliness, etc. The safety team has marked off pews and will serve as ushers. The handbell choir will play and Jenni and Lisa will play a piano duet. We all look forward to holding our services together again after such a long absence.
— 10 a.m. and later —
►Online worship service
■ Our online worship service is available at www.swiftchurch.org, on the Swift Presbyterian Church Facebook page and on YouTube. (If you subscribe to our YouTube channel, it makes it easier to access later.)
— The Rev. Keith Cardwell
■ Acolyte: Sully Curry
■ Time with the children: animated video
■ Scripture: Sena Cooper
■ Seeking worship helpers: If you would like to light and extinguish the candles as an acolyte, lead “time with the children,” or read Scripture as part of our online Sunday worship, please contact the church office for more information.
A congregational meeting was held on Sunday, Sept. 6, and the following were elected to serve on the nominating committee: Al Sprouse and Brett Cardwell, elders; Betty Sizemore, deacon; Jack Williams, Daryl Pichoff, Eunice Ray and Debbie Schmidt.
The handbell choir has resumed rehearsal on Wednesdays at 5:30 p.m. in the church sanctuary.
A deacons meeting will be held on Sept. 20 immediately after worship at 11 a.m. in the fellowship hall.
We continue to practice radical hospitality by ongoing contact with our church family. Let us welcome God in, receive God’s love and make room for God in our lives. Let us pray that we will soon be together again, focusing on receiving God’s love and sharing it with others.

If you are in financial need because of COVID-19 — lack of work, medical bills, no stimulus check, or other reasons — please contact Pastors Keith or Jody Beth for a confidential conversation about how Swift Church can help you financially.
|►Warning on email, text messages |
If you receive an email or text message that appears to be from Pastor Keith requesting money or one that seems suspicious, please contact Pastor Keith before responding.
Thank you for your generous and ongoing offerings during this season of separation. Mission support, pastoral care, worship leadership, property maintenance and education depend on your extravagant generosity.
