■ Worship services will be available for viewing after “live stream” on the church website.
►All Saints Day is Nov. 7
On Nov. 7, during worship, we will read the names of Swift family and friends who have died since last year. Please contact the church office with your list of names with proper spelling no later than Nov. 2. A handbell will toll in memory of each person.
If you would like to donate flowers in honor of or in memory of someone for our 10 a.m. Sunday service, please contact Susie Alexander at 251-943-4145.
►Volunteers for worship
Are you willing to serve as an acolyte or lead “time with the children”? Contact Greg McNair, worship elder, at 251-965-1003 or firstname.lastname@example.org.
Butterfly Girls and Guys Night Out has been tentatively moved to Thursday, Oct. 28, at 6:30 p.m. at Vallarta Mexican Restaurant, 1145 S. McKenzie St., Foley, next to Winn-Dixie.
Saturday, Oct. 30 • 5 p.m.
Christian education will host an evening of fun with trunk-or-treat, games, and food. Volunteers are needed to help with trunk-or-treat. If you would like to contribute, but not participate in the trunk-or-treat event, we will take candy donations. If you have a flair for or love decorating, please volunteer because we will need lots of that. It’s going to be a good time for everyone!
Please contact Tracy Akins at 251-979-7798 if you are willing and able to help.

Risk-taking mission and service
►Food pantry update
The Swift Church food pantry served 23 households and 42 individuals on Oct. 13.
Special thanks to Al Sprouse, Susan Saylor, Marvin King and Jim Runtz for their help.
The pantry will be open again on Wednesday, Oct. 27, from 10 to 11 a.m. to serve the community.
►Swift financial help
If you are in financial need from lack of work, medical bills, or other reasons, please contact pastors Keith or Jody Beth for financial assistance. Your generosity to the pastors’ discretionary fund allows us to provide those in need with financial support.
►Warning on email, text messages
If you receive an email or text message that appears to be from Pastor Keith requesting money or one that seems suspicious, please contact Pastor Keith before responding.
October is Stewardship Month. You should have received a letter from our stewardship committee. Please prayerfully consider making a commitment that will allow Swift Church to continue doing God’s work and spreading God’s word throughout our community and beyond.
►Tithes and offerings
Thank you for your generous and ongoing financial contributions to Swift Church.
Your tithes and offerings given online, via mail, or at in-person worship enable us to continue the ministry of the church.
Don’t forget to turn in your 2022 pledge cards. If you need one, they are available on the back table of the sanctuary..
If you are an avid reader — young or old — come check out our library in the annex. Not only are there classics and books for young readers, there are biographies, fiction and even books featuring religious topics. Come browse on a rainy day and check out a book. You will be surprised with the many familiar authors and topics available.
Prayers and joys
►Please let us know . . .
Please call the church or email to notify us of any joys or concerns; birthdays, anniversaries, health issues or family deaths so that we may put it in the weekly emailed announcements for your church family to pray with you or to praise God for your joy. (We don’t publish personal prayer concerns on the website.)
Swift Church has collected more than $9,080 to help with the purchase of necessary supplies and to renovate the Barnwells’ home to fit Kevin’s needs when he comes home.
If you would like to contribute, please send money to the church via mail, drop by the office or donate online at https://swiftchurch.org/. Mark your contribution as missions and write Barnwell in notes.
If you would like to help with the renovations to their home, please contact Pastor Keith or Pastor Jody Beth.

“I was caught off guard when Greg presented me with the Tanger gift card Sunday. It was a pleasant surprise. There are so many options at Tanger for use of the card, I’m not sure where it will be used. I appreciate the congregation’s care and acknowledgment of my leadership. I am thankful that we are in ministry together.”
— Pastor Keith

“Dear Swift family,
“I appreciate so much the gift card that I was given last Sunday! It was so thoughtful of you to do this even though I’m not a pastor by any means! I’m humbled by your generosity.
“Blessings to all of you.”

“To Swift session and congregation,
“Thank you for the pastor appreciation recognition during service last Sunday. It has been a particularly challenging year, and I’m thankful for your support all year long.”
