God is good all the time.
■ Intercessory prayer group meets each Wednesday at 9 a.m. in the chapel.
“The purpose of prayer
is not to conform God
to our will but to adjust
our will to God. We must
learn to trust God so that
if He says ‘no,’ we accept
that His will is best.”
— From Experiencing God by Henry Blackaby

| ►‘Snacks with Susan and Daryl’ discussion class | |
Sundays from 9 to 9:45 a.m. in annex room 4
‘The Rock, the Road, and the Rabbi’
Join Kathie Lee Gifford as she asks how could she be sure of what the Bible was really saying, when we are so separated from the ancient Jewish culture in which it was written? It wasn’t until she began studying the biblical texts in their original Hebrew and Greek — along with actually hiking the ancient paths of Israel with Rabbi Jason Sobel, a messianic Jewish rabbi — that she gained a deeper knowledge of God Himself.
The schedule:
• Oct. 5 — Bethlehem: Where It All Began
• Oct. 12 — Nazareth: The Early Years
• Oct. 19 — Capernaum: Ministry Headquarters
• Oct. 26 and Nov. 2 — Class will not meet
• Nov. 9 — Galilee: Ministry Grounds
• Nov. 16 — Mount of Olives: The Triumphal Entry
• Nov. 23 — Jerusalem: Crucifixion and Resurrection
Join us for Snacks with Susan and Daryl Sunday mornings at 9 in annex room 4 for a bite to eat and some thought-provoking conversation.
| ►Adult Bible study class, led by Bill and Catherine | |
Sundays from 9 to 9:45 a.m. in annex room 2
Today we will study Leviticus, chapter 11.
Leviticus contains commandments given to Moses by God at the foot of Mount Sinai over about a one-month period just prior to the Israelites’ journey to the Promised Land.
Leviticus contains instructions for worship and personal holiness. Although the New Testament (the New Covenant) abrogates Old Testament ceremonial law, the Levitical priesthood, and the sanctuary, the Book of Leviticus offers us greater insight into the nature of God and how He wants us to relate to Him.
If you are new to the class, don’t worry about missing previous lessons. As in the rest of the Bible, each verse is almost a lesson in itself. Visitors and new class members are always welcome. We have coffee brewed and take turns bringing pastries.
The class meets in annex room 2 on Sundays at 9 a.m. We look forward to seeing you.
