    Leadership nominations needed

The Swift Church nominating committee meets this Sunday afternoon, to do their elected duty of seeking God’s leadership for the next three years. It is not too late to submit your recommendations for elder, deacon and trustee. Email Pastor Keith or bring to church Sunday morning. Needed to fulfill these church positions are three elders (spiritual and governmental leader); three deacons (two congregational care and one fellowship deacon) and one trustee (legal matters).

Do not contact your nominated individuals. The committee will make all the necessary contacts. Thank you for your help.

    Radical hospitality

We continue to practice radical hospitality by ongoing contact with our church family. Let us welcome God in, receive God’s love and make room for God in our lives. Let us pray that we all will soon be together again, focusing on receiving God’s love and sharing it with others.

    ►Veterans Day

We will observe Veterans Day on Nov. 11 by placing American flags on graves o veterans in our cemetery. If you know of a veteran who has not been honored in the past, please advise the office.

    ►Food pantry update

The food pantry is our “moment for mission” in November. Please add to your regular monthly offering any additional monies you would like to designate for the pantry. During October, our pantry gave out a total of 25 bags, helping 51 people.

The pantry will be open on Nov. 11 and again on Nov. 25 for Thanksgiving bags. Hours are 10 to 11 a.m.

Dorothy Warren has accepted the responsibility as food pantry coordinator. There are numerous volunteer opportunities to help Dorothy with this important mission. Please contact her at 251-424-5117 if you can help.

    ►Swift financial help

If you are in financial need from damage and during recovery from Hurricane Sally or from lack of work, medical bills, or other reasons, please contact Pastors Keith or Jody Beth for financial assistance.

Wonderful Swift folks are ready to provide a meal or wash laundry to ease your recovery burden. Contact Pastor Jody Beth and she’ll get this lined up for you.

    ►Warning on email, text messages

If you receive an email or text message that appears to be from Pastor Keith requesting money or one that seems suspicious, please contact Pastor Keith before responding.

    Extravagant generosity
    ►Tithes and offerings

Thank you for your generous and ongoing offerings. Your financial support, through checks or online giving through our website, enable Swift Church ministry to continue. If you are in need of assistance or if you are able to donate your time and talents to help those who have had damage from Hurricane Sally, please contact Pastor Jody Beth. She is serving as coordinator with those offering to help and those in need. Contact her at swiftpc@gulftel.com or 251-213-6625.

“My heartfelt thanks to the congregation for the Tanger gift card given for Pastor Appreciation Month. Of course, I will enjoy spending it, but most importantly, I thank God for the privilege of being your pastor. This has been a most difficult year for us all.
