    ►Wednesday evening worship

We will try to meet on July 22 for worship on the church grounds at 6:30 p.m. We will monitor the COVID-19 cases to determine if we will have to cancel. Please check Facebook and email for updates.

    ►Session meeting

Session will meet on Monday, July 20, at 6:30 p.m. in the fellowship hall.

    Radical hospitality

We continue to practice radical hospitality by ongoing contact with our church family. Let us welcome God in, receive God’s love and make room for God in our lives. Let us pray that we will soon be together again; focusing on receiving God’s love and sharing it with others.

    Intentional faith development
    ►‘Snacks with Susan and Daryl’
    Sunday school class

We will continue with our “Me and My Big Mouth” study on July 19, looking at “According to the Code” (Ephesians 4:17–32) and discussing the power of our words, both positive and negative. We will be wrapping up the study on July 26 and Aug. 2 in the last section, “Right Where You Want ’Em” (the story of Joseph in Genesis).

    — Susan and Daryl Pichoff

    ►Adult Sunday school class,
    led by Cheryl

All is well at the Jensen household so we will meet this Sunday, July 19. We begin studying in Philippians. Looking forward to seeing everyone!

    — Cheryl Jensen

►‘Let us not give up meeting together’

“I never realized how important it was to me to see everybody at church on Sunday mornings.”

In these days — now weeks and months — of social isolating, many of you have said that you really miss getting together with your church family. And, it is actually biblical for us to meet together regularly!  In Hebrews 10:25, we are told “not to give up meeting together, as some are in the habit of doing, but to encourage one another….”

How can you “meet together” these days:

    ■ Participate in Sunday morning worship online on Facebook, YouTube, and through the church website, www.swiftchurch.org,  on Facebook, go to Swift Presbyterian Church https://facebook.com/Swift-Presbyterian-Church, or on YouTube.com, Swift Presbyterian Church channel.

    ■ Form a Sunday school class, Bible study, prayer group, or fellowship group. If you would like to seek ways to ‘meet together’ with others from your church family, we want to help. Within the guidelines of four-step plan that the session approved, groups of 12 or fewer can use the church facilities to meet together, adhering to safe practices. Contact the church office for more information. (Note, two of our existing Sunday school classes have been meeting; they are both at capacity.)

    ■ Read the weekly announcements and pray the prayer lists that are emailed (snail-mailed on request) each Friday.

    ■ Join the online Bible study group. They meet, using the Zoom app, on Thursdays from 10 to 11:30 a.m. Or form a new Zoom group. Contact Pastor Jody Beth.

Meeting together is an important aspect of our spiritual health. Let’s not give up seeking ways “to encourage one another” during these unique times.

    ►Copies of ‘Our Daily Bread’

The June–August “Our Daily Bread” devotional booklets are in the church office. Please come by and pick one up or let us know and we will deliver one to you.

    Risk-taking mission and service
    ►Food pantry update

The food pantry is open on the second and fourth Wednesdays of the month.

Our next scheduled distribution is July 22 from 10 to 11 a.m.

Nineteen bags of food (to help feed 40 people) and three masks were given out on July 8.

    ►Swift financial help

If you are in financial need because of COVID-19 — lack of work, medical bills, no stimulus check, or other reasons — please contact Pastors Keith or Jody Beth for a confidential conversation about how Swift Church can help you financially.

    ►Warning on email, text messages

If you receive an e-mail or text from Pastor Keith requesting money or one that seems suspicious, please contact Pastor Keith before responding.

    Extravagant generosity
    ►Tithes and offerings

Thank you for your generous and ongoing offerings during this season of separation. Your financial support, through checks or online giving through our website, enable Swift Church ministry to continue. Mission support, pastoral care, worship leadership, property maintenance and education depend on your extravagant generosity.

    Prayers and joys
    ►Please let us know . . .

During this time of online worship, please know that you can call the church or email to notify us of any joys or concerns; birthdays, anniversaries, health issues or family deaths so that we may put it in the weekly emailed announcements for your church family to pray with you or to praise God for your joy. (We don’t publish personal prayer concerns on the website.) swiftpastor@gmail.com, jodybeth7@yahoo.com or swiftpc@gulftel.com.
