Isaiah 11:1–10 • Matthew 3:1–12

■ The Lord’s Supper will be served. Everyone is invited to the table.
■ This is our designated monthly “bring a friend” day. We welcome all who join us for worship, study and fellowship — today and each time we gather.

Poinsettias will add some seasonal color to the sanctuary’s chancel as Christmas approaches. If you would like to order one or more poinsettias in memory or in honor of friends or loved ones — or just for the church — check out the details and order form on this page. Or, you can use the form in the printed or emailed announcements.
The suggested donation price is $10 a plant. You can take your poinsettias home after the Christmas Eve worship service.

■ Haven play cafe is open Tuesdays and Thursdays from 9:30 to 11:30 a.m.
■ Intercessory prayer group meets each Wednesday at 9 a.m. in the chapel.

■ Our food pantry is open to serve the community on Wednesdays from 10 to 11 a.m.

This week, the food pantry served 58 families, including 221 people.
If you are interested in helping or know of someone who might be interested, please consider getting involved or at least share the opportunity to volunteer with others.

| We are looking for men and women of Swift to support our nursery for our 10 a.m. service, two adults each Sunday.
If you are interested in volunteering either once a month or once every two months, please contact co-captains Kathy Menk at 251-518-7966 or Eunice Ray at 251-979-2231 or see them after church.
Nursery is now being held in the Haven room in the education/office annex. We will provide everything you need, including Bible stories and snacks for the children. We will also remind you before it is your Sunday to serve. Thank you for loving and supporting the children of Swift Church.

Even when he was an atheist, Lee Strobel enjoyed the Christmas season — the gift-giving, holiday parties, and being with friends and family. But after his wife became a Christian, Lee started to investigate the real meaning behind all those nativity scenes he had seen outside of churches.
In this four-week study, Lee reveals what he discovered as he sought to separate the holiday from the holy day, the facts from the fantasy, and the truth from the tradition.
Join Snacks with Susan and Daryl for this video study, exchanging ideas and looking a little deeper into a story we all know.
The study began Nov. 30 with the topic “Setting the Record Straight.”

Sundays from 9 to 9:45 a.m. in annex room 2
Today our class will be studying Leviticus, chapters 18–20.
Leviticus contains commandments given to Moses by God at the foot of Mount Sinai over about a one-month period just prior to the Israelites’ journey to the Promised Land.
Leviticus contains instructions for worship and personal holiness. Although the New Testament (the New Covenant) abrogates Old Testament ceremonial law, the Levitical priesthood, and the sanctuary, the Book of Leviticus offers us greater insight into the nature of God and how He wants us to relate to Him.
If you are new to the class, don’t worry about missing previous lessons. As in the rest of the Bible, each verse is almost a lesson in itself. Visitors and new class members are always welcome. We have coffee brewed and take turns bringing pastries.
The class meets in annex room 2 on Sundays at 9 a.m. We look forward to seeing you.
